These functions make it easy to manage, customise and protect family parameters – from editing individual parameters and batch processing entire libraries to selectively removing formulas to safeguard your company’s know-how. Once defined, parameter assignments can be saved and applied to any number of families across projects, ensuring consistent, efficient and secure parameter management throughout the office.
Family Tools
Edit Parameters

Allows comprehensive editing of family parameters directly in a clear table view. All parameters of a family – including data type, instance/type assignment, values, and formulas – are displayed at a glance and can be modified directly. In addition, new shared parameters from a linked parameter file can be added, assigned values and formulas, and mapped to or replaced with existing parameters. Using the auto‑map function as well as saving and loading mappings, predefined parameter assignments can be reused across multiple projects. This significantly increases the efficiency and consistency of parameter management for entire family libraries.
Edit Parameters – Batch

Automatically applies mappings previously saved under “Edit Parameters” to entire family libraries. The mapping file, the shared parameter file, and a folder containing families are selected, and all families within that folder are processed in batch mode. Progress is displayed clearly with status messages for each family, including a final summary of successful, skipped, and failed operations. This enables efficient and consistent parameter updates across hundreds of families.
Formula Remover
Removes all formulas from the selected families in one step. The calculated values remain, but the underlying logic is no longer visible. This protects your intellectual property when families are shared with third parties.
